Owluz is a quiz app that generates questions from whatever you give it. This page says exactly what we keep, why, who it passes through, and how to erase all of it. It describes what the software actually does, not what it might do one day.
What we keep
Your account: email address, password (never in the clear, our authentication provider hashes it), display name and tag. What you create: quizzes, questions, generations, flashcard decks. What you play: games, answers, scores, favourites. And three technical things: the app version you run, crash reports if the app fails, and a notification token if you accept revision reminders. That token identifies your device so we can send it a notification, nothing more, and declining notifications is enough for it never to exist.
What we do not do
We do not sell any data. We use no third-party advertising tracker. We do not read your private quizzes for anything other than serving them back to you. We ask for neither your real name, nor your date of birth, nor your location.
The content you send to be generated
When you generate a quiz from text, a photo of your course notes or a document, that content is sent to Google (Gemini) to produce the questions. Do not hand it a document holding sensitive information or other people’s personal data: it leaves our server.
Who the data passes through
Supabase for authentication and accounts. Google (Gemini) for generation, and only the content you submit. Hetzner, in Germany, for hosting the server and the database. Those are the only three, and none of them receives your data for its own purposes.
How long
Your account and what you create stay for as long as the account exists. Crash reports are deleted automatically after 30 days. Content reports are kept for as long as moderation needs them.
Deleting your account
From inside the app, in your profile, or by writing to the address below. You then have 30 days to change your mind: we email you a restore link, and for as long as that window runs your account waits for you intact. After the 30 days the erasure is final and nothing brings it back. One exception, and it is deliberate: a quiz you made PUBLIC stays online, detached from your account and your display name. Other people have played it, favourited it or turned it into flashcards, and pulling it would erase their work along with yours. Your private quizzes leave with the account.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, for corrections, for deletion, or for an exportable copy. Write to us: we answer at the same address as support.
Children
Owluz is for everyone, schools included. We deliberately collect no data from a child beyond what the account requires. If you are the parent of a child who created an account and you want it removed, write to us and we will do it.
